Creative Business Development and Product Marketing for New Market Development

Fabrice Herpain

IntroPic250Fabrice, owner and founder of BusinesSense, is a former Director of Product Management and Business Development at Microsoft. Fabrice has close to 15 years work experience in business development and product management and planning for the software giant.
Half of his experience was acquired in the European field, working for Microsoft's French subsidiary and European Headquarters in Paris. After a successful experience developing the European business for Microsoft's Hardware products from 1994 to 1997, Fabrice moved to Redmond's headquarters to manage the product and business planning for the new Sidewinder line of gaming peripherals.

As that business reached over $150 million in worldwide revenues and grew to a full line of a dozen peripherals, Fabrice moved to a new Microsoft startup for the Connected Home, which eventually became the renowned eHome Division. Still in capacity of lead planner for eHome's V1 product, Fabrice drove the group towards the first iteration of the Windows Media Center OS, helping the group better understand the needs and desires of the multimedia Windows enthusiasts and prioritizing features and functionalities amongst the vast choice of possibilities for this exciting new SKU.

In the Fall of 2001, as Windows Media Center V1 was reaching completion, Fabrice joined the Xbox Product Management group, to tackle planning and product management for the launch of the Xbox Live subscription service for the new console.

In the summer of 2003, Fabrice then moved to the Windows Division in its fast growing and highly independent Hardware Innovation Group, set up to stimulate the PC hardware community to develop innovative new products for the Windows platform.

In that group, Fabrice took on the position of Director of Business Development, working with leading OEM PC partners on the creation and co-marketing of innovative PC offerings and form factors, several of which were showcased by Bill Gates at Microsoft's WinHEC summit.
